Testimonials

I was referred to Bradford for treatment by the Alabama Board of Nursing after failing a drug test.

I can honestly say entering a recovery program has been the most rewarding event of my life, since the birth of my children. I also can say I would not be sober today if not for the guidance & counseling I got in treatment. Bradford laid the groundwork that has been essential to my recovery.

Treatment works & should be a part of any medical insurance plan.

Thanks,
Mike M

Treatment at Bradford was the hardest most dificult thing I ever did, yet it has turned out to be the best thing and most positive experience I have ever had. The inpatient program removed me form my obsessive - compulsive environment and kept me physically safe & secure from being able to act on my impulses. The outpatient program is designed to focus on issues in your personal life, environment & tried to get people better life skills. Most importantly, they try as best they can to hammer home the need for continued care through the 12 step programs of AA, NA, or CA.

Bradford Inpatient treatment absolutely saved my life. It was the basic instrument that brought about recovery for me. I learned a great deal about my disease and how to begin to live a new life. The emotional support is what got me through. I was taught how to share my feelings and how to stay clean and sober. I am very grateful for my experience at Bradford, all the help I recieved, and for my continued sobriety.

On September 24th I woke up in total despair just waiting for the day my kidney would shut down, my liver would quit functioning or my heart would stop from all the chemical abuse I had done to my body. This was the constant thought I had. On that same day I contacted Bradford knowing there was no way without outside help I could save myself from this slow suicide.

I was in Bradford from that day until October 13th and that was the most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life. Now my thoughts are about enjoying each new day with my two beautiful children knowing that I never have to use drugs or drink alcohol again if that is what I choose.

Thank you !

What Bradford Treatment has meant to our family
Alcoholism and drug addiction had turned our family into a confused, wounded, hateful and hopeless bunch of people. Bradford has given us the possibility and opportunity for recovery.

Bradford has given us some honest facts and education about the nature of this sickness. It helps to know what alcoholism, chemical dependancy and co-dependancy are and what can be done about it.

Bradford has given us counseling to try to rebuild our lives, learn how to communicate with each other in a healthy way and accept reality.

Bradford has given us tools to keep healthy mentally, physically and spiritually. My husband and I both work recovery through AA, CA, Alanon and Bradford after care meetings to focus on our individual health and growth.

Bradford has given us friends in these after care programs, picnics, and conferences. These friends understand the problems alcoholism burdens a family with and the comfort of understanding friends and staff has given us so much support.

Bradford has given us hope! To see other alcoholic addicts actually staying sober and rebuilding their lives with God, family and employers has been so encouraging. I'll never forget the first banquet I attended at the Bradford Gulf shores convention. When Alcoholics stood up to proclaim their 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 25 years of sobriety my heart lifted. I know that recovery was actually possible

And Recovery has been a wonderful process that makes me thankful. I am thankful for Bradford.

The Bradford Treatment plan was literally God's way of saving my life, I am a recovering alcoholic who got to the lowest point when consuming a quart of vodka a day. I wanted to quit but I could not do it alone even though my family, job, and life in general was coming to pieces. I called the 800 number for Bradford thinking it would be an outpatient treatment program.

However it was the most intensive soul searching and uttermost hell in detox that no one could possibly imagine. Thanks to God and the counselor & medical staff at Bradford I am within 1 year of being clean and sober. It is worth every penny my husband and I spent!
